My father is basically a pure-bred Irish person. His whole family is Irish, and he still has relatives currently living in Ireland. So, I was wondering why his family decided to leave Ireland to come to the United States. I believe it was my father's grandparents that came to the states, so that would be in the early 1900s.
What events were happening in Ireland in the 1900s?
Did my family experience economic struggles?
Were they persecuted?
